more specifically, a gamecube controller. It works with the $10 adapter I got from wal-mart.
A - accelerate
B - brake
control stick - steer
Z - restart
R - respawn
L - push to talk (that's handy)
Y - show scores
X - toggle opponents.

Having a as go and b as brake allows me to use the same finger (right thumb) to drift. I simple roll my thumb over to the brake and viola! I'm pressing both simultaneously xD

Everybody should really know the thing with the braking key.

I also did the mistake in my beginner racing time, that i had the braking key at down arrow

Now i have the braking key on "W"
